105th Expo Québec: “A Sure Thing” says Mayor

Quebec City (Quebec) 1 August 2015 – This 105th edition of Expo Québec will be a “transition”, which hopes for a revival of the event with a “deficit-free” budget, according to the mayor of Québec City, Régis Labeaume.

“This is a sure course for the Expo Québec, with a little risk,” he said.

The last two years have been difficult for Expo Québec, which has greatly suffered considerable decline in customer traffic.

The organization is trying the all out to give a second wind to the event, rethinking the type of programming shows and halving the presale price of daily tickets.

“The idea is not to make deficit. From what I’ve seen in programming, it’s a safe bet,” added the mayor.

Since 2008, the organization of Expo Québec found itself in the red twice. In 2011, the deficit was $400,000, while in 2013, the shortfall amounted to $1.1 million.
