RedBull_CrashedIce_2012_RegistrationFor the eighth consecutive year, the popular ice cross downhill world championship, Redbull Crashed Ice, will have its final on an impressive course, set up in the historical streets of Old Quebec. The focus will be on this competition which entertains many people every year.

It became a tradition for Quebecers, the World championships attracts thousands of spectators every year. A combination of hockey, boardercross, and downhill skiing, Redbull Crashed Ice offers a playground for amateur and pro hockey players, men and women.

March 16th, in the evening, people will have the chance to watch the races on a new track, which promises an incredible battle until the finish line. It is the last step of five that the 64 best athletes in Canada completed successfully and earned a place in the finals.

This year’s track is improved and allows for speeds of up to 60 km/h, it is 594 metres long, 4.8 metres wide on average. New obstacles will make this harder for the athletes.

The trail will start in front of the Château Frontenac. It is on a straight line on Du Fort Street that the athletes will be able to pass others while trying to dodge the obstacles. After the big turn in front of the Montmorency Park, those who are still on their skates will take off in in the côte de la Montagne. The winner will have to cross first the finish line in Place de Paris. Points are attributed in every step ranging from 1,000 for the winner to .5 for the 100th position.

The competitor with the most points after the five races will be the Redbull Crashed Ice 2013 world champion.
