9 protesters arrested following Quebec cyclist death

Quebec City (Quebec) 06 September, 2014 – Around a dozen people were arrested for public disorder last night in Quebec City as part of a demonstration to denounce the death of Guy Blouin, the 48-year old cyclist hit by a Quebec City police patrol car on Wednesday.

The demonstrators gathered in the late evening in front of the Church of St. Roch. They were then taken to the police station at Victoria Park.

The demonstration ended after the protesters had blocked the boul. Charest, Quebec City.

Many accuse the police of committing irregularities that led to the death of the cyclist.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating.
