A Fourth Official English-speaking Toastmasters Club in Quebec City

By Jean Racine

The D’Estimauville Toastmasters club received its club charter from Toastmasters International last week and became an official club.

Members have been meeting regularly since February 7, 2012 in the new Federal Government building at 550, ave. D’Estimauville in Beauport.

Meetings are held each Tuesday at noon.

Representing the Toastmasters International organization at the ceremony were Bruno Proulx, Division I Governor, Louis-Philippe Allard, Area 93 Governor, Bobby Fielding, past Area 93 Governor and other past governors.

The club president, Michel Bouliane, received the charter from the Division I Governor.

All the club members were proud to proclaim the Toastmasters member promise and to receive their Charter Member certificate and Toastmasters pins.

“This is an important milestone in the history of the club” said Michel Bouliane. The ceremony was followed by a brief and joy-filled Toastmasters meeting.

The majority of the members are bilingual civil servants with Transport Canada and Environment Canada. The club is open to the public.

Anyone looking to develop their leadership and communication skills in English is welcome and encouraged to attend a meeting, free of charge.
