Accident Led to Serious Injury

A cyclist and sports journalist for Radio-Canada was injured late last Friday after a crash during the last part of a stage in the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie.

It’s possible that the cyclist was Richard L’Heureux, a journalist in the Mauricie region, who was taking part in the challenge this year.

According to Radio-Canada, the injured man was transported to the Sainte-Marie Hospital in Trois-Rivières, where he was admitted into the intensive care unit on Saturday morning.

He was conscious and in stable condition.  His condition isn’t life threatening.

He broke his collarbone and suffered a concussion after colliding with two other cyclists at the end of the group.
The two other cyclists suffered minor injuries and should be able to get back on their bikes on Saturday.

The three cyclists collided at around 10.50pm on route 155.
