Quebec City, Monday, February 13, 2017 – Good news! For the 2017 season, the Baie de Beauport is joining forces with Odyssée Camps to offer a new and improved range of day camps for young people in the Quebec City area. “We’re confident that by teaming up with Odyssée Camps, we can offer a unique experience for kids in the Quebec City area that will bring out the full potential of the amazing site we have here,” said Philippe Laperrière, Executive Director of the Baie de Beauport.

Sailing camps and a range of special programs
Building on the success of recent years, the Baie de Beauport’s popular sailing camps will be back for the summer, and this year they’ll be operated by Odyssée Camps on the strength of the years of expertise and experience it brings to the table.

Odyssée’s renowned Trois-Saumons sailing camp needs no introduction as it rides high on the reputation it has earned since it was founded in 2004. It is with great enthusiasm that the Baie de Beauport welcomes Odyssée Camps here to operate its renowned sailing camp, which has earned glowing praise from the sailing community, as it goes hand in hand with the overarching goal to promote the sport of sailing in and around Quebec City.

An array of special programs will also be on offer for families wanting give their children the Baie de Beauport experience through an Odyssée camp. “With a site like the Baie de Beauport, we’re fortunate in that the existing facilities, the access to the river and the natural beauty of the place allow us to really maximize the diversity in what we offer,” said Gabriel Bigaouette, Executive Director of Odyssée Camps. “We aim to help young people get exactly what they want out of their summer camp experience as well as giving them the opportunity to get better at a sport or leisure activity they might already do.”

There’ll be a wide range of options for campers, inlcuding options as diverse as photography, physical training and nutrition. Tasters for watersports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, catamaran sailing, canoeing and windsurfing are also on the menu. And that’s not all, because thanks to the Quebec City Circus School and its on-site flying trapeze, young people can also sign up for an intensive week of acrobatics. Katag and Laser Commando, two ultra-popular programs already on the menu at Odyssée’s Bourg-Royal camp, will also be on offer at the Baie de Beauport this summer. And how could we forget the pumptrack that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser for avid mountain bikers! This incredible lineup of options is sure to give plenty of kids the kind of summer memories are made of.

The Odyssée experience
Odyssée Camps has more than 70 years’ experience in leading the way for summer vacation camps all across Quebec. With four distinct camp operations—Trois-Saumons, Minogami, Bourg-Royal and now the Odyssée day camp at the Baie de Beauport—Odyssée Camps educates young people aged 4 to 19 through a range of activities and programs that put having fun, discovering new things and confidence-building front and centre. Odyssée Camps are now the benchmark standard for families and schools, setting an example for the camp industry in general.

Getting to camp and before- and after-care service
To make logistics easier for a greater number of families taking advantage of the Odyssée day camps at the Baie de Beauport, there will be a bus service to the site from the Bourg-Royal camp at St-Jean-Eudes (SJE) school in Charlesbourg. Buses will run from SJE to the Baie de Beauport in the morning and return at the end of the afternoon. Parents of young people registered for camp can also take advantage of a before- and after-care service at either SJE or the Baie de Beauport.
