Le Pentathlon des neiges : The biggest winter multi-sport event!

Quebec_en_forme_LogoQuebec, February 22nd 2013, The Quebec en Forme initiative for the English-speaking community “BE ACTIVE QUEBEC” is proud to invite you to this grand winter event.

Le Pentathlon des neiges will hold this official RSEQ tournament on February 28th on the Plains of Abraham at 10.30 am. More than 935 students will participate in the race in order to win a RSEQ banner for their school.

Please join us in cheering on 2 teams from Holland Elementary School and 4 teams from St-Patrick’s High school, as they race in their respective categories.

Claire Arseneau and Philippe Trudel are the teachers who have been responsible for the coaching and participation of their students.

BE ACTIVE QUEBEC was able to support one team from each school in order to help them reach their goals.

Be_active_Quebec_logoThe Pentathlon des neiges has broken its own participation record by having more than 4,802 people take part this year.

In total, 8 challenges will be presented on the Plains of Abraham. Among this eventful competition, spectators will have the chance to watch the RSEQ tournament for students in Elementary and Secondary schools, the RSEQ challenge for Cegep and University students (St-Lawrence has entered a team), the Corporate challenge, the “Journée santé et services sociaux de la capitale-nationale”, a family challenge, a short distance challenge and finally, a long distance challenge where Olympians and professional athletes will compete.

The initiative “BE ACTIVE QUEBEC” is made possible by the support and financial assistance of Québec en Forme, which promotes the adoption and maintenance of healthy eating habits and a physically active life for Quebec youths.
