Bonhomme’s Palace in Good Shape Despite Uneven Weather

Bonhomme’s Palace in Good Shape Despite Uneven Weather

Bonhomme’s palace will be ready even in this weather. The last block of ice for the Bonhomme Carnival’s palace will be placed just in time for the start of the 59th Carnival edition in Quebec on Friday. The workers were worried.

Mother Nature played in the extreme zones since the beginning of the month, the moment when the workers were starting to pile up the ice blocks on the Plains of Abraham. Ice does not like extremes: when the temperature is mild, it becomes more compact, and when it is too cold, it cracks. The construction even had to be stopped for four days.

But the teams worked even harder to keep themselves warm, but also to complete the palace in time. For today, it is mission accomplished and only the decorations are left on the list.
