I am a relatively new immigrant to Québec, and quite unfamiliar with much of the local produce. This book has been instrumental in developing my culinary understanding of local products and regional cuisines. The recipes are easy to follow and all feature fresh, local ingredients. From fiddlehead ferns to the tourtière du Saguenay, the variety of foods is impressive. Equally impressive are the photographs spread throughout the book.
