Cameron Porter signs on as new Impact forward

MONTREAL — The Montreal Impact have signed forward Cameron Porter to a new contract.

Porter played five games for the Impact in 2015 across all competitions during his rookie year. The 22-year-old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on March 21 during his second Major League Soccer game and was sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Drafted in the third round (45th overall) of the 2015 SuperDraft, the former Princeton graduate officially joined the first team on Feb. 7.

He scored the tying goal in injury time at Olympic Stadium in 1-1 draw with Pachuca on March 3. The goal game Montreal an aggregate victory over the Mexican side and a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals.
