Capitales de Québec Are CanAm Champions Again

BASEBALL

The Quebec Capitals are the CanAm League Champions for the fourth consecutive year.

Monday night at the Yogi Berra Stadium, Little Falls, New Jersey, Quebec’s team defeated the New Jersey Jackals to 10-3 to win in five games this seven games best series.

This fourth championship is as special as the first (2009). Each season, the clubs are so different.

Anemic when facing Jeff Duda for over six periods, the Jackals scored three points to take a one-point lead by the end of the seventh.

Guilty of a mistake from a few minutes earlier, Jonathan Malo made made up to it by snapping a two-point home-run shot against veteran left-hander Isaac Pavlik.

A few moments later, Joshua Peley hit a long ball for two good points.

At 6-3, the game was almost over and the job done, but the Capitals added four points in the ninth period. You can never be too careful!

Peley also celebrated his first championship in Quebec City. An incredible season by far the best in his career when taking into account emotions, the crowd, the coaching, and the entire organization.
