Carnaval de Québec Unveils 61st Annual Program – “Bonhomme’s World”

Quebec City (Quebec) January 7, 2015 – The Québec Winter Carnaval unveiled the full program for its 61st edition, held this year between January 30th and Feburary 15th.  The program includes over 200 activities tailored for children, families, and adults, all under the theme of “Bonhomme’s World”.

Isabelle Hurtevent, president of this year’s edition, spoke glowingly about the organisation’s plans for this year.  “The Carnaval is broadening its horizons with a diverse program and a host of new additions that are sure to please!”  She added, “Our goal is to spread the festive spirit and get as many people as possible in the mood to celebrate and make this event their own.”  Organisers are also hoping that the event will grow stronger roots within the local community while maintaining its status as a premier international event.

Particular highlights of this year’s Carnaval include the 2015 World Winter Masters Games Snowshoe World Cup, the first time such an event will be held in an urban setting.  In keeping with the sporting tradition, the now unmissable ice canoe race is slated for February 8th.

Another Carnaval first, adults are invited to attend the Bulles, Whisky et Cie at the Concorde Hotel’s ballroom, where they will be able to sample local drinks and cocktails.
