Chocolat Pascot – A Taste Of Heaven

Chocolat Pascot – A Taste Of Heaven

by Elizabeth Davies

I was very fortunate to be invited to the opening of Chocolat Pascot in Place Sainte-Foy Shopping Centre earlier this week.

I was graciously served with a wonderful glass of port and a selection of their finest chocolates neatly presented on a silver platter.

La Princesse: a sumptuous combination of chocolate mousse and a hint of orange wrapped in milk chocolate.

Praliné Lait : a caramel-covered almond and hazelnut wrapped in milk chocolate.

Caramel noir: a smooth caramel with a hint of fleur de sel wrapped in dark chocolate.

There are also a number of other varieties of specialty chocolates that are beautifully displayed at the boutique.

I was further introduced to Glacé Fruit imported from Saint-Rémy de Provence, France.

These jewels are the product of carefully selected ripe fruit followed by an extremely long and meticulous process of preservation, with the end result bringing to the palate a flavour of summer!

Strolling and feasting my eyes on the exquisite presentation of these works of art, while the two guest musicians played inviting classical music, I met the owner- designer, Claire Pascot.

She proudly told me of the union of the rich history of making fine chocolate – the heritage of craftsmanship of 4 generations, and how the wonderful flavours of France are accomplished every day at their factory in Sainte-Foy here in Québec City.

‘We produce these sweet indulgences with pride that goes into each bite.’ Ms. Pascot added  that her chocolates are made from the finest all-natural ingredients without cream or butter which only enhances the flavour of the best quality cocoa.  Thus, one bite of these handcrafted morsels will change the way you think about chocolate forever.

Just in time for Christmas, you can offer these extraordinarily luscious and sensory-provoking confections in distinctive boxed collections to chocolate connaisseurs. Chocolat Pascot offers many ideas for receptions and parties.

To find this treasure just go to Place Sainte-Foy Mall, 2450, Blvd. Laurier and enter door number 1. Head to the centre of the mall facing the Simons store where you will find the Chocolat Pascot  boutique.
