Cirque du Soleil on the Move

The Cirque du Soleil is to move its show, Les chemins invisibles, outdoors to l’Agora de Quebec.

The event will vacate the site it has used for the past four years, underneath the Dufferin-Montmorency highway, and will now be performed in the Agora’s Amphitheatre.

Chemins_invisibles_Cirque_du_SoleilThe Quebec Transportation Ministry (MTQ) has asked for some infrastructure work to be done and it is this that has prompted the change of location.

For the last four years, Cirque du Soleil offered Quebec City an outdoor show as part of a five-year engagement that ends this summer.

At first presented in an ambulatory version, Les chemins invisibles event, which brings together 40 local and non-local artists, has transformed from one season to the next to keep the local and touristic clients’ interested. As of previous years, the show is slated begin on June 24th and end on Labour Day.

Will there be a show presented in the Agora this year? A decision is yet to be made…
