Course du Trophée Roses des sables

Course du Trophée Roses des sables

Michelle Cantin and Cynthia Levesque, both from Levis, who are taking part in the Course du Trophée Roses des sables, flew to France earlier this week.

On October 11th, they were on the start line in Ciboure, France and ready to tackle the 6,400 km in between them and their destination of Morocco.

To follow the progression of these two Quebec representatives, you can look at the race via social networks and on www.trophee-roses-des-sables.net/course-en-direct-2012.

The Trophée Roses des sables is a type of rally exclusively for women.

Aboard a 4 x 4 vehicle equipped with a “road book”, a compass, and a map, participants must find their way through the Sahara desert and deal with any type of conditions.

The rally also has a humanitarian part while each team must provide 50 pounds of humanitarian supplies for children from the desert.

Also, the race organizers are donating one euro per kilometre travelled by the teams to the Association “Le cancer du sein Parlons en!”.

Let’s go les filles!!!
