Springtime for The Central Québec School Board means getting ready for the annual Performing Arts Festival (PAF). This year, the CQSB celebrates its tenth festival!

On March 22nd, Quebec High School students have a pedagogical day to make room for the 400 young artists arriving by bus from as far away as La Tuque, Jonquière, or Thetford Mines.

Over the morning and early afternoon, the students will be taking part in workshops given by professional artists from Quebec City, Trois Rivières, and Montreal. Whether it is trapeze, magic, beat boxing or song writing, students will have a chance to work alongside inspiring experts in a range of artistic genres.

At 6 pm the auditorium behind the stage will be open to the public for an exhibition of the PIX Photography Exhibition, which is a travelling photography exhibition made up of last year’s student winners from across the school board.

The large scale standing mural that students will produce with En Masse during the day will also be on display.

Light refreshments and hor d’oeuvres will be served. The evening performance starts at 7 pm at La Salle Jean-Paul-Tardif at 950 Joffre in Quebec City and is open to the public. We hope to see large numbers of parents and supporters from across the school board. Our young artists depend on your support. They are the future of the arts in our communities.
