Disney on Ice at the Bell Centre

Disney on Ice at the Bell Centre

The first Disney on Ice performance: Disney Treasures, began on Thursday at the Bell Centre.

The team are used to wowing the crowds and this show, which brings together classic characters like Snow White, Aladdin, and Peter Pan, and also more recent characters, like Rapunzel and Tiana, is of the same type as previous years with more than 100 costumes and 6.5 tons of material.

Among the ice-skaters is the Quebecer Erika Gagné, who is in her sixth show in 12 years with Disney on ice.

For two years, she played Nala, Simba’s childhood friend in The Lion King.

The skaters love their job because it is something they love doing, and this, despite the constant travelling that ends up being very tiring. Erika Gagné is on the move 10 months a year and can be performing up to 10 times a week.

Her motivation is when she sees the children’s eyes and hears their joyful cries.

After Montreal, where she is skating for the fourth time in her career, she will continue the North American tour with the group, and will then fly to Japan for summer 2013.

Almost a fairy tale!
