EVox bike launched in Quebec

The all new electric bicycle, eVox, is officially launched along the deck des Cageux, on Samuel-De-Champlain, by its inventor, the Procycle company from Saint-Georges de Beauce.

To celebrate this event, 40 employees took a 20 km ride on eVox between Saint-Romuald and Quebec.

After three years of research and development and a few testing months in the market, the product is finally ready for Quebecers. Made for Quebec, the eVox bicycle has a unique technology that was developed in the past four years. The engine is integrated to the gear system with power which helps when going up hills of 15% inclination.

A few years ago, the company had developed an electric bicycle prototype, but the technology was not great, specifically for the battery. Today, the entreprise comes back with something new: a 1 hour rechargeable battery. On the actual market, batteries take from 3 to 5 hours to fully recharge.

With this one, it is possible to do between 35 and 100 km/h. last summer an Englishman left with an eVox and a battery from the office of Saint-Georges to join, 60 days later, the office in Vancouver. He stopped in small coffee shops to recharge his battery. It is a first in the world.

A console installed on the steering allows speed modes. It is possible to ride freely or to receive assistance or be in the 100% electric mode.

The electric bicycle market is growing. Procycle proposes eVox to Quebec this year. It hopes in the next year, to grow to the rest of Canada and the United States, and then in Europe.t Today, more than 200 eVoxes are on Quebec roads. In the next three years, the company wants to see between 5 and 6000 per year circulating. The eVox is offered in many colours and is available for $2800. With the charger, the bicycle weighs 60 pounds.
