Extreme canoeists go for it in St. Charles River

Dozens of canoeists and kayakers attacked the rapids in the Saint-Charles River last weekend for the 12th edition of the Vagues-en-ville Festival opening.

The event which continues on Sunday at the Chauveau Park marks the beginning of the season in the region for extreme and outdoors sports.

The paddlers are expected Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to fight in a 4 kilometre circuit of R2 and R3 rapids.

A step from the Quebec Slalom Cup will also be held at 11:00 am.

Introductory activities for rafting are also available to all.
