Flight of the Bremen

Monday April 15 at 7:30 p.m. – Irish Heritage Quebec will hold an activity in McMahon Hall, 1145 de Salaberry in Quebec City.

John O’Connor will present a conference titled The Flight of the Bremen.

In April 1928, Quebec City and the province of Quebec made headlines nationally and internationally. The race was on to be the newspaper to interview the crew of the first successful flight across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to North America. The Bremen had landed unexpectedly on Greenly Island off Blanc Sablon on the lower North Shore of the St. Lawrence River. T

he arrival of the Bremen sparked a series of events including an emergency flight by Charles Lindbergh who landed on the Plains of Abraham.

All are welcome to attend.
