French Consultate Quebec City building sold

Quebec City (Quebec) 9 December 2014 – We had mentioned earlier in the year that the Consulat de France building was up for sale and that the consulat would be moving to a new location.

The building, known as the Kent House has indeed been sold for a sum of $2.75 million dollars and the new owners, from Toronto and Beauce, have so far said they will maintain the building in its present state.

Some people were concerned that the old structure built in 1648 would be torn down to make room for some new condos.

The consulat is moving to 500 Grande Allée at the end of next year.
