Good news for RTC customers

Opus-card_RTC-busThe RTC users will soon be able to buy their monthly bus pass or tickets from the comfort of their homes. The RTC administration council recently approved the acquisition and rollout of a new online purchasing system.

This technology, also adopted by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and other transporters with OPUS, allows clients to buy passes and tickets from a specific website.

A special reader, available for around $10 will be necessary to recharge the card or read the remaining balance.

This system should be all set sometime in 2014. STM, who are directing the project, are currently in an experimental and testing phase.

The project is valued at a cool $8M, of which $5M is financed by the government.
