“Great Inconvenience” against pension reform set for 26th November

“Great Inconvenience” against pension reform set for 26th November

Get ready – city workers are going on strike soon.

Thousands of municipal workers across Quebec are slated to be on strike on November 26.

They will participate in a day of “great inconvenience” to protest against bill 3 on the reform of the pension plans.

Strike notices were sent to several municipalities, including Montreal and Levis.

Employees who do not have the right to strike, such as firefighters and police officers, will use other means of pressure that will be announced the same day.

The Coalition for Free Trade Union Negotiation has organized demonstrations in cities across Canada in recent months.

It runs counter to the equal sharing of pension deficits between employers and unions.

Prime Minister Philippe Couillard has said repeatedly that his government would not back down on this point.
