Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin could be back in the game Tuesday against Tampa Bay or Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.

The Russian 28-year old, struggling with a shoulder injury, has not played since 18 February.
Furthermore, Emelin has been contact training this past week.

Other Habs resumed training on Monday, the day before the scheduled match the following day.

For the occasion, the head coach Michel Therrien has kept the same trios. Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau and Manny Malhotra attackers were still too many.

Parenteau was left out in the three previous meetings. In fact, he participated in a single game since January 15. It was last Monday against the Sharks in San Jose.

The Québécois has long been bothered by symptoms related to the two concussions he suffered, but he has fully recovered since February 25, when he got the green light from doctors to reintegrate training.

The last presence of Malhotra goes back to the game against the Sharks.
