Have You Finished Your Snow Sculpture Yet?

Snow_Sculpture_ShipFor Rodrigue Grenier from Courville, the Quebec Carnival means snow sculptures.

Making the most of the pleasures of winter since a very young age, the 75-year old just created his 21st snow sculpture in front of his old house at the 2249, Royale Avenue, and he invites other residents close by to do the same to keep this great tradition alive.

He can rememeber the numerous snow monuments that were built each year on Sainte-Therese Street, in the Saint-Sauveur part of in Quebec.

It was beautiful and it gave us an occasion to celebrate winter with family and friends. Children and adults need to get fresh air in winter. His sculpture is done, when is yours coming up?

To complete his sculpture, Mr. Grenier started by blowing snow in one pile 8 metres high. He then started to sculpt with a shovel and based himself with a drawing of a boat and a reduced plastic model.

This step took three hours Saturday and five hours on Sunday. A weekend outdoors feels great.
