He’ll catch a grenade for ya on the Plains this summer

It is now official, Bruno Mars will sing on the Plains of Abraham on July 8, 2013 .

The American star will be there for the Festival d’été (FEQ) with his tour: Moonshine Jungle.

The FEQ team confirmed on Wednesday afternoon the rumor that had been intensifying for a few hours.

According to the Festival’s program manager, Louis Bellavance, the contract with Bruno Mars was concluded a few months ago after two years of hard work. For the Festival, it is one of the biggest catches for pop music. With this tour, Quebec can also expect one of the biggest productions for the 46th edition, even though the organization expects other guests to have the occasion to rock the new stage on the Plains of Abraham.

The FEQ must wait for the 75,000 first tickets to be sold before confirming Bruno Mars’ presence. The organization needed to see just how much people trusted them to give them better tools to work with.

Bruno Mars’ world tour will begin June 22 in Washington and will appear in Toronto and Montreal before stopping by Quebec.

Ellie Goulding will be singing in the first part of many shows. For now, her name is not on the program because the organization wants to choose from many offers.

The Festival d’été will be on from July 4 to 14th.

Belle and Sebastien, the Scottish group, confirmed their presence at the Parc de la Francophonie for the opening evening. The first 75,000 passes have already been sold for $66 each.

A second wave of 75,000 tickets will be available starting March 16th for $76 each.

Bring on the summer.
