Irish Heritage Quebec to hold talk on 18th Century Irish Emigration

Monday September 16 at 7:30 p.m. Irish Heritage Quebec will hold an activity on Monday, in McMahon Hall, 1145 de Salaberry in Quebec City.  Steve Cameron, a co-founder of Coimeal Cealteach, an Irish cultural and history group based in Sainte-Agathe-de-Lobinière, will give a talk on the factors in 18th century Ireland that contributed to large-scale emigration well before the Great Famine of 1847. These factors included the Penal Laws, loss of land, loss of hope, rebellion,  martial law and its aftermath.

All are welcome to this event. Refreshments will be served and parking stubs for Ilot St. Patrick will be validated.
