Is there a serial killer among us?

Hinchinbrooke (Quebec) 13 July 2015 – Last Thursday, July 9th a horrendous discovery was made in a small town on the Canadian/American border south of Montreal, called Hinchinbrooke. A green plastic bag containing a mutilated body was reported to police by a passer-by of the community who found the bag, thinking it was someone who had simply thrown away their garbage.

Once the body was examined by police, putting two and two together, they connected it with the disappearance of a 22-year old girl who had been reported missing in Ville Lasalle the previous Monday, July 6th.

The Quebec Provincial Police (Sûrète du Québec) have started an inquiry together with the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) to find out more details about the case. Hinchinbrooke is about 60 km south of where the victim, Samantha Higgins, was last seen on her way home from some friends in Ville Lasalle, a suburb of Montreal, on Monday night.

The body was cut into pieces and thrown off a small bridge from a quiet rural road into the swampy waters below probably hoping it wouldn’t be found.

Samantha Higgins was the mother of two children, 4 and 3 years old and had never been in trouble with the law. The strange case has police on the lookout for a suspect of unknown whereabouts, and the investigation is at a ground zero situation for the moment.

We will try and follow this story as it progresses.
