It’s A Go for the Snow in Mont-Sainte-Anne

Snowmaking turned on in Québec City’s two biggest resorts

Stoneham_Snow_Nov2013Beaupré, November 5, 2013 – The temperatures were in favor of snow sports yesterday! With these cold temps, Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham Mountain Resort started their snowmaking at full speed for a first night! Here are the scheduled openings of the resorts, if cold weather persists and allows it:

>Mont-Sainte-Anne: preview weekend on November 23-24 / Official opening 7 days on November 30;
>Stoneham: opens for night skiing [4pm] on November 29 and Bud Light STOPEN freestyle opening party [rail jam and contest with great money prizes to start up the night] / Official opening 7 days/7 nights on Friday, December 6, 4pm.

Check out the video shot this morning at Mont-Sainte-Anne:

WHAT’S THE PLAN?

Near a hundred snow guns are armed on the North side of the mountain, which is well known as the best spot to start snowmaking in the early season, due to its cold climate, type of ground and size of the trails. Our objective is to offer the biggest skiable terrain for the opening day, up to 5 trails if weather permits. At Stoneham, our snow guns are also set in 5 trails, including the Bunny Hill and the trail #3, dedicated to our XL Snow Park.
