Johnny Reid at the Chateau Frontenac

Johnny Reid, singer and songrwriter, born in Scotland arrived in Canada in 1988 and attended Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke.

This year at the JUNO Awards he took home the Country Album of the Year award and was nominated in five categories.

In recent years he has won a total of thirteen CCMA’s, including the 2009 Fan’s Choice Award and the Top Selling Record and Male Artist of the Year Awards two years running.

In 2009, he was also nominated for a total of four JUNO Awards.

Last Friday, he so generously gave a free performance to over 200 peole at the Château Frontenac in the Ballroom.

He and his band of 4 musicians and two chorus singers sang some of his greatest songs such as “Dance with Me”; “ Old Flame”; “Today I’m Gonna Try and Change the World”; “Darlin”; “Thank You”; “Out of the Blue”.

He included a couple of Christmas Songs such as: “Silent Night” and “You Better Watchout”.

Finally, after an encore, he sang “A Woman Like You”.

Johnny Reid is obviously a family man and we discovered that through the storytelling and the craft of the songwriting he explained to us between songs.

Johnny was on a short trip to Quebec City before going home to spend some well-deserved time with his wife and four children.

Joyeuses Fêtes, Johnny and thanks for coming to entertain us!
