l’Anti-Bar et Spectacles: Interview with the owners

It’s a regular Wednesday night in October in Quebec City and LifeinQuebec.com went to l’Anti Bar & Spectacles on rue Dorchester to speak to the new owners Jay Manek and Karl-Emmanuel Picard.

The bar has recently been renamed, refurbished, and reopened by Manek and Picard.

Here are some of the questions that we asked:

Q: How long has the Anti Bar been open?

Q: Why did you decide to take the the Anti Bar on together?

Q: Do you both have business backgrounds?

Q: Karl, now I know you’re passionate about music. How do you get bands and singers to come and perform here?

Q: Jay, are the clientele in your other businesses the same people who come to the bar?

Q: And what sort of events do you have here at the Anti bar?

Q: Is there something on every night?

Q: How does the Anti bar stand out from other bars in the city?
What makes it different?

Q: What genre of music do the bands belong to who mainly come and perform here?

Q: Talk me through a regular week here – what can people expect to see who come along?

Q: Any plans for the future for the bar?
