Laval Engineers in Texas Eco-Marathon

A team of future engineers from Laval University are on the verge of leaving for Texas where they will attempt to win the honours of the Shell Eco-Marathon, an international student fuel economy competition.

The team leader, the engineer graduate Philippe Bouchard, thinks his vehicle presented on Wednesday will not have the same problems as last year, when the big engine problems stopped the team from finishing the ten required days, although they ranked 3rd in another competition, the SAE Supermileage.

You may recall that before, the students from Laval University had won the Shell Eco-Marathon three years in a row, from 2009 to 2011. The team held a testing seat for their engine, so they shouldn’t encounter the same problems as the previous year.

The vehicle will leave in a trailer on Tuesday and the rest of the team will follow the next day.

The competition will take place from April 4th to 7th.
