Let’s Talk About Alzheimer’s Disease!

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in Canada.

The Alzheimer Society is Canada’s leading health charity for people with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and other dementia. Alzheimer’s, the most common form of dementia, is a disease of the brain affecting men and women of all races, religions and socio-economic backgrounds. “It is not a normal part of aging and no one is immune.” (Alzheimer Society of Canada). This interactive health education session is designed to give you answers to your questions and equip you with tools for greater understanding around Alzheimer’s Disease.

Learning Objectives

This special videoconference will give you the opportunity to explore:

•    What is Alzheimer’s Disease: Diagnosis, Progression, Treatments and Risk Factors
•    Caring for someone with AD
•    Safety issues
•    Communication, Strategies and Stimulating Activities

About Your Speaker, Teresa Anuza

Teresa Anuza, BA, MA in Cognitive Psychology, Coordinator-Educational Services for Alzheimer Society of Montreal, is responsible for the development and delivery of conferences for the public and for institutes of higher learning as well as training workshops for the professional health care community. Ms. Anuza also provides individual and group counseling for caregivers.
