Make the most of winter on the Plains of Abraham

Make the most of winter on the Plains of Abraham

A unique snowshoe tour by lantern light.

Québec, As the temperature continues to drop, National Battlefields Commission employees put on the finishing touches on winter preparations. As soon as Mother Nature covers the park with a thick blanket of snow, outdoor enthusiasts are invited to make the most of the fantastic cross-country ski trails, walking and snowshoe trails on the Plains of Abraham. Offered again this year, the guided snowshoe tour by moonlight will rejoice sports enthusiasts as well as history buffs.

The snowshoer’s walk

Put on your caps, mittens, arrow-head sashes and snowshoes to accompany a 20th century snowshoer in the park, along the course mapped out by the Plains of Abraham’s sports history. Let the guide tell you about the leisure and sports activities of this “belle époque.” You can relive the Stanley Cup win by the Quebec Bulldogs, the ski jumping and ski jorring, the winter strolls, and even more. Here is a unique recreational outing that will thrill you with delight. Why not try a stroll under the stars? Traditional snowshoes, sashes, lanterns and chocolate included.
