Marcel Barbeau Works Available for Viewing at Galerie Lounge TD, Montreal

Thirty works of art from Marcel Barbeau, many unpublished, will be on show at the Galerie Lounge TD for the Movements rhythms and chords exhibition, which runs from October 25 to December 23, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles in Montreal.

Multidisciplinary international artist, Marcel Barbeau will present paintings, sculptures, and recent paper works, which perfectly match the musical and choreagraphic language which captivates people.

Still active at 87-years old, he is a pioneer of abstract expressionists and a founding member of Automatistes.

He perfected his art from Paul-Émile Borduas and shared a studio with Jean-Paul Riopelle, with whom he co-signed the manifestation for Global Refusal in 1948.

Naturally curious, in addition to painting, drawing, and sculpting, he broadened his works by creating collages, printmaking, and photography, in addition to focusing on dance, music, poetry, and architecture.

Galerie Lounge TD is located on the second floor of the Maison du Festival Rio Tinto Alcan. Admission is free.
