Meet Life in Québec’s newest columnist: Barry McCullough

Hi All,

I’m Barry McCullough and I’ll be writing about all things beer-related.

I’m aiming to publish a beer column every couple of weeks or so. We’ll call it ‘Bi-Weekly Brews.’

So, what is ‘Bi-weekly Brews?’

Cold_Beer_webI’m glad you asked. Bi-weekly Brews is a bi-weekly feature (by that I mean every other week, not the bi-weekly that means twice a week). Even I have my limits.

In each column we’ll take a look at one of Quebec’s many breweries. This is assuming, of course, that you actually click on (good) and/or read (better) the articles.

Why? Well, I’m a bit of a beer geek, a label I wear somewhat proudly. I talk about beer a lot and there are too many beers to count being brewed in Quebec these days. I thought it would be a good thing to sort things out a bit.

Am I an expert? A wise man once told me that an expert is just someone who knows one more thing than you do. That being said, the answer is a resounding no. I’m simply a guy who likes beer a lot…all styles of beer, really and I figured I could shed a little light on what’s happening in Quebec’s still-expanding craft beer scene.

The articles will mostly feature Quebec craft beers, with a specific focus on beer brewed in the Greater Quebec City region. That’s not to say other beers won’t be featured.

I hope that you enjoy the read.

I’d welcome feedback, too.

Cheers!
