Music Students from École Secondaire La Seigneurie Play with the OSQ

Students in the music program at La Seigneurie high school lived one of the greatest experiences on Friday.

They had the chance to give a concert with the musicians of the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec (OSQ). They were 204 students and professionals on stage in the Louis-Fréchette room at the Grand Théatre de Québec.

It was a night to remember and a night with smiles, chills, emotions, pride, and applause. It is a memory that will be engraved in their minds forever. It is an extraordinary experience for young musicians to perform on such a big stage and they were all eager to go on and give their all.

Once they were all in the room, the students put their coats away and started a repetition in the afternoon with the members of the OSQ.  The orchestra chef made them play some difficult pieces and they succeeded, which just proves that they can put their heart on the job.

Yuan Ping Song is the first violin in the symphonic orchestra at La Seigneurie and she was glowing with joy after the rehearsal. All went home after to practice to be ready for the concert that night. Each student had a mentor for the day. Yuan Ping Song was matched with Darren Lowe, first violin of the OSQ. He was delighted and gave her great tips for the concert and for her future.
