Pamela Ware wins gold on three-metre springboard at CAMO Invitational

MONTREAL — Pamela Ware took gold on the three-metre springboard on Sunday to conclude the CAMO Invitational diving competition.

Ware, a three-time world championship medallist, took the title with 333.40 points. The Beloeil, Que., native is part of the FABIV Canadian women Olympic medal hopefuls for 2016.

“This meet is a good opportunity to identify the things we need to work on and the adjustments we need to make over the next few months,” said Ware’s coach Aaron Dziver. “There’s some polishing to do on certain dives but she gained a lot of confidence for the upcoming season.”

Mia Vallee of Beaconsfield, Que., was second at 297.00 and Montreal’s Olivia Chamandy came third at 290.85.

On men’s three-metre, two national team members battled it out for gold with Francois Imbeau-Dulac of St-Lazare, Que., earning the victory at 473.40. Montreal’s Philippe Gagne was second at 468.60 and Sebastian Villa of Colombia nabbed the bronze at 428.80.
