Parkinson’s Ride Across Quebec

His father is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, so Cory Welsh, A young 23-year old Ontarian, decided to take his bicycle and ride across Canada to collect funds to support research into a cure for the illness.

He left Vancouver on June 26th and, last Sunday at the Normandin restaurant on rue Soumande, took advantage of his ride through Quebec to have breakfast with the Parkinson’s Society of Quebec.

This young man is traveling close to 130km per day. His trip should end on September 3rd in Halifax.

So, there’s a few km left to go before reaching his goal.

On the mental and physical conditions, he assures that he is in an extraordinary shape and that he is making the best of the trip.

Throughout his adventures, Cory has been greeted by people living with Parkinson’s disaease, this has been a unique experience.

Cory’s goal is to amass $50,000 before the end of his trip.

Right now, his ride has garnered $40,700.

He’s not in it for the money but to help others.

His determination and courage is to be admired.
