Protect Yourself And Those You Love

Protect Yourself And Those You Love

By Jan Anderson-Toupin, Community Organizer, JHCS

I don’t know about you but legal terms such as “mandate in case of incapacity, power of attorney, do not resuscitate order and last will and testament” strike the fear of God into me! These terms refer to important legal documents which are the cornerstones of health care planning. Most of us would rather play ostrich than think about them. But ignoring our need to protect ourselves and our loves ones isn’t going to make the situation disappear. All of us, no matter your age or life stage, would benefit from learning more about these terms.

Jeffery Hale Community Services’ Caregivers group is sponsoring an informal evening workshop on Tuesday, February 1 from 7 to 8:30 pm in the boardroom of the Jeffery Hale Pavilion (1270, ch. Ste-Foy) to help you learn more about this important subject.
Attorney Brian A. Garneau will offer expert legal advice on these important health care planning tools. This session will be conducted in English and is offered free of charge (parking included). Arm yourself with knowledge; join us at this session entitled Legal Advice for Caregivers. For more information or to register, please call 418 684-5333 Ext 1580.
