Provincial Austerity Budget Hits Quebec City

Provincial Austerity Budget Hits Quebec City

(Québec) The Quebec City region cannot escape the optimization efforts requested by the Marois government to organize the public financial plans. The ministries credit deposit revealed that envelopes for organizations that take part in Quebec’s development will be cut in 2013-2014.

The Capital commission president, François Mercure, will have to work harder with less money. His budget is reduced by $1.5 M, going from $19.5 M to $18 M. Help brought to Quebec City to make it shine is reduced as well from $26.8 M to $25 M. These and other cuts account for a total of $3.3 M.

This is a reasonable effort when considering all projects going on in Quebec. At the budget deposit, the treasurer discussed with Mr. Labeaume and ensured that projects will be evaluated more profoundly and that the cuts will not affect employment in the public sector.
