Quebec City Women’s Club BookFair is Coming on October 27

Beautiful fall leaves are one of the best things about this time of year. Another is the book fair put on by the Women’s Club of Quebec which will take place this coming Saturday, 27 October, at the Eastern Quebec Learning Centre, 3005 William Stuart, located on the corner of Lavigerie and Chemin St. Louis.

The sale will begin at 9am and will continue until 3pm to give you, your family and friends, young and old, plenty of time to browse and pick the books you want for winter reading. Another wonderful selection of books in English, French and many other languages awaits your choice so feel free to come early and browse to your heart’s content. Winter is long and a stash of books of your own will be a boon on those cold days when you just want to stay tucked inside with a good book.

All books are priced at $1 with rare and special books prices somewhat higher. What a wonderful opportunity to try that new author you’ve never read, to try a book from a different genre, or to choose a book… just because. At $1 a book, you can try them all along with books from your tried and true authors!

If you are looking for a good home for your used books and would like to donate them to the sale, please drop them off at the Eastern Quebec Learning Centre the week of the sale, October 23-27, between 8:30am and 4:00pm. Arrangements can also be made to have the books picked up by a Club member.

The Quebec City Women’s Club has an active social program and is open to all women in the area. Copies of the 2012-2013 program will be available at the book fair. A key aim is supporting education for women so in 1973, the Book Fair was started as the Club’s fund-raising event. Thanks to community support it continues to be a success, providing bursaries for young and mature women in the region year after year.

For additional information on book pick-up, Book Fair, bursary applications or membership, please contact Debbie Stowe, 418- 844-1840 or Lynn O’Carroll, 418-527-2737.
