Quebec Celtic Festival – September 10th-16th, 2012

Quebec, September, 2012 – The seventh Celtic Festival of Quebec is going on until September 16 at at the Morrin Centre, as well as in various Quebec establishments (pubs and bistros).


Friday, September 14, Quebec’s Celtic band, Rosheen will play on the outdoor stage at the Morrin Centre (in College Hall in case of rain). Singer Lynn Vallières and six band members will delight your ears! Before the show and during the intermission, come listen to short Celtic tales.


Saturday, September 15 from 12 noon at the Saint-John Gate, the parade will begin with Celtic colours going in the direction of the Morrin Centre, through St-John and Ste-Anne Streets. More than a dozen groups will take part, bringing together nearly 150 participants.


It is on September 15th and 16th that the festivities really ramp up! In fact, this weekend, all are invited to come to the Morrin Centre from 1 pm and enjoy various activities and services: children’s playground, characters, workshops and dance performances, information booths on historical Clan presence, and visits to  the St. Andrew’s Church Museum and Morrin Centre prison.

(1 pm – 3pm). On the big stage, discover the children’s show “Improv-Celtic” foot-tap to the sound of “Irish Bastards” and let yourself be enchanted by Isabeau Corriveau ‘s Celtic harp and percussion! Finally, learn more in a variety of subjects by attending conferences and historical workshops at the Morrin Centre. Various meals and refreshing drinks will be available on the site. (Cash only).

FEST NOZ, Sept 19th

Put on some comfortable shoes and come enjoy a night-time celebration typically Breton better known as Fest-Noz! The l’An des vents group will ensure a nice atmosphere. Get up and dance or enjoy the show! The event will take place outside (in case of bad weather, the Morrin Centre). Quebec Bretons and McAuslan come together for the evening.

CELTIC BANQUET, Sunday, Sept. 16, 12 noon

Come celebrate at a banquet worthy of Asterix and Obelix. On the menu: wild boars and country dishes! (Adults $20  / 12 and under $10).

WHISKY TASTING, Thursday, Sept. 13, 7.30 pm

Increasingly popular, whisky tastings are fun events that allow everyone to familiarize themselves with this typically Celtic drink. For beginners or experienced amateurs, these exclusive parties are led by field experts. An event not to be missed! A Quebec Whisky Collaboration. At the Morrin Centre. 18 years and over ($ 30 / pers.)


Since the beginning of time, tales and legends amuse and entertain people. The Celtic nations are no exception to this tradition and you will have the chance to relive the most intriguing of them during the evening. For $ 30, you get a meal from our partner institution (schedule below), consumption and animation from our storyteller, Yolaine Carrier and our musician, Benoit Fortier.

Wednesday, September 12: The Billig, Bistro-Creperie

In conclusion, the Quebec City Celtic Festival thanks and highlights the importance of public and private partners that make possible the presentation of this event.
