Quebec City Film Festival Coming Soon

The Quebec movies Avant quemon Coeur bascule from Sebastien Rose, J’espèrequetu vas bien, by David La Haye and Jay Tremblay, and Après la neige, written and produced by Paul Barbeau, are just some of the movies being shown (taken from the 50 movies presented) during the second Festival de cinema de la Ville de Québec (FCVQ), September 13th to the 23rd.

The program’s manager, Christopher Lemmonier, revealed the festival’s menu earlier this week, accompagnied by his colleagues Olivier Bilodeau and Marie-Christine Laflamme, stated that he, first and foremost, wanted to create a happy art mix coming from Cannes and Berlin, as well as upcoming Quebec films, while at the same time, taking into account the audience’s tastes.

The Quebec films will be presented in front of their main artists. Sebastien Rose (Le Banquet) will be in town on September 14th to present the drama movie Avant quemon Coeur bascule, accompgnied by actresses Sophie Lorain and Clémence Dufresne-Deslières. Paul Barbeau (producer of Roméo Onze) will also be part of the festival with his first movie, Après la neige, story of a clip producer trying to get closer to his family.

J’espère que tu vas bien, an 87-minute video filmed, in downtown Montreal, will be screened in the presence of co-director, David La Haye.

Movies coming from afar (and shown in other prestigious festivals) include Faust from Aleksander Sokurov a Russian filmmaker, Golden Lion at Venice last year, and EI Taaib of Marzak Allouache, honoured at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes.
