Quebec City is Aqua Responsible

With an A + rating, Quebec City will soon be able to brag about being recognized as a model as an ‘aqua responsible’ city.

This is a good rating and a good report for Quebec City. The results of this pilot project led by Laval University and Institut national de recherché scientifique (INRS) were presented recently at the Quebec City Hall.

Management of water in all its forms has been reviewed and made-up a final score of 3.54 out of four.

Aspiring a perfect score, the city will provide such further efforts to promote responsible consumption of water. It will also ensure adaptation to climate change.

The study cost $300,000, a third of which was paid by the city, which secured the cooperation of the Quebec and Canadian governments for $200,000.

The mayor (Régis Labeaume) said Monday before the council meeting that the goal was to sell the concept to other cities through an aquaresponsible institute that will soon start in Quebec.
