Quebec City top vacation destination

According to research performed on the online reservation site Hotels.com, Quebec City comes up in the first place position amongst the destinations that Québécois people desire to stay throughout the construction holidays.

Last Friday saw some 155,000 construction workers down tools for a couple of weeks and take a break.

Many workers envision themselves going on a trip for a little change of scenery. Within the last 90 days, as research on Hotels.com by Quebecers shows, travellers are more interested in staying in Québec than going to New York, Toronto, or Old Orchard beach amongst other places.

In 2013, Québec also came in a clear first place, beating out New York, Niagra Falls, Montreal, and Toronto respectively.

Although this has not always been the case, the various touristic elements the city has to offer has been not only increasing, but thriving in value. This was currently seen in the successful Festival d’été that recently came to a close.

The results of this survey should delight the stakeholders since the construction holidays often bring significant economic benefits. This year, Québec’s construction committee distributed cheques totaling a whopping 387 million dollars to the workers throughout the different areas of the province.

Even though the Festival d’été just finished, many events are in the upcoming future, not including the multiple activities the region has to offer year round!
