Québec mourns one of its most popular actors

Quebec City, (Quebec) 23 September, 2014 – Gilles Latulippe passed away at the McGill medical centre today September 23 from complications due to lung cancer which he had been battling with for several years. He was 77 years old.

Gilles was a well known and loved actor and comedian who appeared on several television shows, did live stand-up and operated a summer theatre in Drummondville among other things.

He was recently feted for his 55 years in show business at a gala at Place des arts in Montreal just two months ago.

He was still acting this summer at his theatre in Drummondville.

His most popular TV show was Le Capitaine Bonhomme, popular in the late sixties, and he was later a co-host with Fernand Gignac on a show called Le 5 a 6.

He will be missed by all, and especially by Quebec’s show-business population.
