Quebec wants to connect over 13,500 people by 2016

Selected from the hundreds of cities around the world to take advantage of IBM’s expertise in the context of the challenge of smart cities (Smarter Cities Challenge) philanthropic program, In a few weeks Quebec will receive a series of recommendations by the company to increase its status as “connected city.”

The City intends to deploy a strategic plan to break the digital divide affecting a number of people without access to the Internet, 19%. The Labeaume administration plans to reduce the ratio to 16% by 2016.

91% over 45 years

Nearly 20,000 have a functional disability
