Quebec City (Quebec) 14 August 2015 – The wedding that Quebec City, and the whole province for that matter, has been waiting for, is on this weekend. M. Pierre-Karl Péladeau and Julie Snyder, both Quebec media giants, are tying the knot after ten years of being together and they’re doing it in grand style with some going as far as calling it a “Royal Wedding”.

The ceremony will take place outside in the courtyard at the Musée de l”Amerique francophone, a beautiful, restored and historic building in the centre of Old Quebec, at around 5:30 pm on Saturday, August 15. M. Péladeau will arrive on bicycle, and Ms. Snyder should arrive moments later in a Tesla, driven by a chauffeur.

The area where the museum is situated is a dense tourist venue and security will be high, both for the couple and for the many visitors who are expected to participate either as curious on-lookers or invited guests. There will be approximately 250 people attending the wedding, some coming from as far away as Europe. M. Péladeau’s best man or witness is Michel Drucker, a well known French television personality.

It is expected, according to the Quebec City police department, that the street, rue des Jardins from rue Buade will be closed during the 1 hour ceremony and there will be a strong police and media presence.

After the marriage vows, led by Mayor Régis Labeaume, there will be a candlelit supper for about 300 people.

Some people are referring to the wedding as a publicity stunt to attract the couple’s attention to the media since M. Péladeau will be running in the next provincial elections as head of the Parti Québécois.

We wish the couple good luck and hope they enjoy their life together.
