Record early opening for Quebec ski centres

Quebec City (Quebec) 22 November 2014 – Certain ski centres around the city are celebrating the earliest start to a ski season since 2007.

At Stoneham, north of the city, the first skiers were able to enjoy their favourite sport starting Friday night, November 21 with three hills, groomed, packed and ready.

At Mont Ste. Anne 6 slopes were opened at 8:30 am Saturday morning, Nov 22 with four of them on natural snow.

Last year the centres started the season the 23 November.

Both centres belong to the same owner and they have been making snow for about three weeks so they have a good base and with the ample quantity of snow that has fallen, the hills that are open are fully functional.

Le Massif de Charlevoix also started its lifts at 8:30 Saturday AM with four trails open.

The ski centres are happy to be able to start the season early, not only for themselves but, also for the tourists that come to the city to ski.
